Mectec Sawmill located in East Gippsland, is a boutique, old style Hardwood sawmill operated by JM & EC Mekken & Family, with hand picked workers trained on the older type equipment. Re-established out of the ashes of the old licensee system this new enterprise takes stock from a market not previously sourced and not viable for other mills.
The mill produces a range of products from garden stakes to bridge timbers, O.B. and K.D. to 8.1m x 325mm wide. A selection of specialty timbers are produced on contract and a range of by-products are available for wholesale purchase.

Mectec Earthmoving, Forestry, Timber Harvesting and Cartage contracting operations provide services for dam building and cleaning,  re-growth clearing, road making, wild-fire maintenance, mound ploughing and heavy discing. The forestry operations provide services for floating, road transport, timber haulage, timber harvesting in both Departmental & private property.

Mechanical Workshop Repairs are undertaken by our Caterpillar and Komatsu trained fitters. We provide contract maintenance, field service and workshop repairs, engine and drive line rebuilds, paint and panel  repair and engineering fabrication.

New and Used Plant and Equipment is available for sale/purchase on an ongoing basis.  We buy and sell used plant and equipment for Caterpillar, Komatsu and Kenworth. New parts are available at competitive rates.
